About

Bill lives in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa, with his spouse, Gene Wiseman.

We have two cats, Russian Blues named Boris and Natasha.  I guess it’s more accurate to say that the cats let us live in their home because, you know, they’re cats.

Bill’s daughter, Alison, lives in the San Francisco area, where she works for the California Digital Library.  She has two children, Ben and Will.

Bill’s a mathematician with numerous research publications in  nonlinear functional analysis to his credit.  He’s taught courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in real analysis, differential equations, probability, and applied statistics.  After serving in various positions at the University of Oklahoma, Bill retired in 2018.  It’s true what they say: retirement is even better than tenure.

Bill’s not completely retired, however.  Every year, he still serves on or chairs two or three accreditation teams with the Higher Learning Commission.  He is also a part-time author.  He’s active on Writing.com, where he writes a monthly column For Writers.
