Biographies
The information for these short biographies was culled from various sources on the web.
The premiere site for biographies of mathematicians on the web is at The University of Saint Andrews in Scotland and many of the short biographies here draw on this resource.
However not all of the biographies on this site are of mathematicians. For example Elton Mayo, founder of the Human Relations movement, is included, as is Leonard Klienrock, the true "inventor" of the internet..
Other sources included a wonderful site on mathematicians on postage stamps maintained by Jeff Miller, a mathematics teacher in Florida.
The Free Internet Encyclopedia Wikipedia is also an excellent source of information.
